We’re supporting a growing manufacturing business in Hampshire who are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Officer to support and drive health and safety performance across the site.
What’s the role all about?
As a Health & Safety Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the business to maintain safe working practices, meet regulatory requirements and promote a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
You’ll work closely with operational teams, supporting audits, investigations, training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Support and maintain company Health & Safety systems and procedures
- Ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and standards
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Investigate incidents and support corrective actions
- Deliver Health & Safety guidance and training to employees
- Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across the site
- Maintain accurate H&S documentation and records
- Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to safety and compliance
- Liaise with external bodies and auditors where required
What you’ll need
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Experience within a Health & Safety role in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting audits, inspections and investigations
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to influence and engage with teams across the business
- Proactive and hands-on approach to problem solving
Desirable
- NEBOSH qualification or equivalent
- Experience within manufacturing, production or industrial sectors
- Knowledge of ISO standards and continuous improvement initiatives
