Duties Include:
  • Conduct diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on HGVs and plant equipment, including crushers, excavators, dozers, and dump trucks
  • Ensure ongoing safety, compliance, and roadworthiness of fleet
  • Prepare vehicles and plant machinery for MOT inspections
  • Attend breakdowns and provide prompt, effective repairs
  • Assist with tyre repairs and replacements
  • Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment complying with health and safety policies
  • Keep up-to-date with industry regulations and safety standards
  • Assist with vehicle and machinery inspections across multiple sites within Bolton and surrounding areas
Requirements for the HGV / Plant Technician Role:
  • Proven experience as an HGV or Plant Technician or Mechanic
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills; capable of troubleshooting effectively
  • Ability to strip, rebuild, and repair heavy plant machinery, including engines, hydraulics, and drive lines
  • Experience working on crushers, screeners, excavators, loaders, dozers, and dump trucks is highly desirable
  • Valid driving licence (Category C/E preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to travel between various sites within Bolton and nearby locations
  • Willingness to work hours approximately from 06:00 to 18:00/19:00, with additional overtime opportunities
