  • Annual profit share scheme
  • Company vehicle and tools provided
  • Monday to Friday day shifts
  • 45-hour working week
  • Travel between sites included within your working hours
  • Excellent work-life balance
  • Typically one overnight stay per week, fully funded by the business where required
  • Stable, long-term opportunity within a growing fleet operation

The Role

  • Carrying out fleet compliance inspections and vehicle condition assessments
  • Identifying defects, recurring issues and opportunities for improvement
  • Completing minor repairs and defect rectification where required
  • Supporting vehicle roadworthiness and legal compliance
  • Ensuring fleet standards align with Operator Licence requirements
  • Working closely with depot teams and external maintenance providers
  • Assisting with vehicle inspection processes and driver defect reporting standards

Approximately 75% of the role is focused on inspections, audits and compliance activities, with around 25% involving hands-on maintenance and repairs.

About You

To be considered, you'll need:

  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Fleet Engineer, Workshop Controller or similar
  • A recognised vehicle maintenance qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of HGV maintenance and repair standards
  • Experience identifying defects and assessing vehicle roadworthiness
  • Knowledge of fleet compliance and Operator Licence requirements
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
