🕒 Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity

SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to be working exclusively with a warm, inclusive, and highly regarded primary school in Hackney to recruit an exceptional Higher Level Teaching Assistant for their thriving Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP).

This is a genuinely rewarding opportunity to join a passionate and forward-thinking team supporting pupils with autism and complex additional needs across EYFS and Key Stage 1. The school is looking for a confident and nurturing HLTA who is ready to play a key role within a specialist setting where every day makes a meaningful difference.

The ARP is exceptionally well supported, well resourced, and led by a caring leadership team that truly values specialist education. Staff wellbeing, collaboration, and professional development are at the heart of the school's ethos.

The Role

As HLTA within the ARP, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver outstanding support for pupils with a range of communication and developmental needs. You will lead targeted interventions, support learning across the provision, and help create a calm, structured, and engaging environment where children can flourish socially, emotionally, and academically.

This is a varied and highly valued role with opportunities to take initiative, lead learning, and contribute to the continued development of the provision. There may also be occasions where you are asked to provide class cover alongside your ARP responsibilities.

For the right candidate, the school can offer an earlier July 2026 start to support a smooth transition into the role ahead of September.

The School Is Looking For Someone Who:

Holds HLTA status or has significant experience working at HLTA level

Has strong experience supporting children with autism and complex SEND needs

Can confidently lead interventions, small-group sessions, and occasional whole-class learning

Understands approaches such as sensory regulation, communication systems, and positive behaviour support

Has a secure understanding of child development within EYFS and KS1

Is calm, proactive, resilient, and highly adaptable

Is passionate about inclusive education and helping every child reach their full potential

What the School Offers:

A welcoming and highly supportive leadership team

A well-established, well-resourced specialist ARP provision

Excellent opportunities for professional growth and development

A collaborative and inclusive school community

The chance to make a genuine long-term impact on children's lives

This role would suit an experienced HLTA or SEND practitioner looking for a fulfilling position with greater responsibility in a specialist educational environment.
