The Role

As a Housing Officer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality housing management services to residents and leaseholders. You will be responsible for managing tenancies, building positive relationships with residents, and ensuring communities are safe, well-managed, and sustainable.

Working closely with repairs, tenancy enforcement, lettings, and housing management teams, you will help deliver an effective and customer-focused housing service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of tenants and leaseholders, providing advice and support on tenancy matters, rights, and responsibilities.
  • Conduct tenancy audits, estate inspections, and property visits to ensure compliance with tenancy agreements.
  • Investigate and manage anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases, neighbour disputes, and tenancy breaches in partnership with relevant agencies where required.
  • Support residents in sustaining tenancies and accessing appropriate support services.
  • Liaise with internal teams including repairs, compliance, and neighbourhood services to resolve housing-related issues efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate housing records and ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality requirements.
  • Assist with lettings, allocations, sign-ups, and void management processes where required.
  • Promote resident engagement and deliver a high standard of customer service at all times.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Good understanding of housing legislation, tenancy management, and social housing practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with residents and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage difficult situations professionally and with empathy.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
  • Experience within housing management, tenancy support, or social housing administration is desirable.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
