Housing Triage Officer

Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking initial triage assessments for all new housing enquiries
- Assessing households’ risk of homelessness at first contact
- Providing tailored housing advice and early intervention support
- Advising on a range of housing options including private rent, social housing, and supported accommodation
- Responding to general enquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face contact
- Supporting residents with access to services that help sustain tenancies
- Delivering advice across areas such as homelessness, tenancy rights, domestic abuse, and financial issues
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Recent experience working within a housing options, homelessness, or triage environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with a non-judgmental and empathetic approach
- Ability to assess complex situations and apply investigative skills
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Working Arrangements
- Office-based in Braintree during training
- Thereafter, 3 days per week in the office
