A well‑established organisation within the transport sector is seeking an experienced HR Officer to join their team on a temporary contract for an initial 3 months, with potential for extension.

This role requires a confident HR professional with strong Employee Relations (ER) experience who can provide pragmatic, employment‑law‑focused advice in a fast‑paced operational environment.

The Role

Reporting into the HR team, you will play a key role in supporting managers and employees across a broad range of HR and ER matters. Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing first-line and escalated HR advice to managers and employees
• Managing a varied caseload of Employee Relations issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance concerns
• Supporting investigations, hearings, and outcomes in line with company policy and employment legislation
• Advising on employment law, ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice
• Supporting the application and interpretation of HR policies and procedures
• Assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and wider HR administration as required
• Maintaining accurate HR records and documentation

About You

• Proven experience in a generalist HR role with a strong focus on Employee Relations
• Solid working knowledge of UK employment law
• Confident advising managers on complex and sensitive ER matters
• Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
• Able to work autonomously and manage competing priorities

Contract Details

• Contract: Temporary - 3 months +
• Salary: £31,000 per annum (equivalent)
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week
• Working pattern: 9am-5pm with flexibility
• Start date: ASAP
