We are recruiting for a skilled Hydraulics Fitter to join a well-established manufacturing business where quality, precision, and reliability are central to daily operations. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong experience in hydraulic assembly, fitting, testing, and maintenance who can work confidently from engineering drawings and ensure systems are built and maintained to the highest standards.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Assemble, fit, and install hydraulic systems, components, pipework, hoses, cylinders, pumps, and valves to specification.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics, and technical instructions to complete work accurately.
  • Carry out hydraulic testing, fault finding, and pressure checks to ensure safe and efficient system performance.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic faults on equipment, assemblies, and manufacturing systems to minimise downtime.
  • Use workshop tools, measuring equipment, and testing instruments safely and effectively during build and repair activities.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and maintain build standards.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures, engineering tolerances, and health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate job records, inspection results, and parts usage while supporting continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation.
  • Proven experience in a Hydraulics Fitter, Hydraulic Technician, Mechanical Fitter, or similar manufacturing or engineering role.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, components, and fault-finding techniques.
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic assembly, testing, maintenance, and repair in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good awareness of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.
  • Reliable, detail-focused, and able to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
  • Apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent engineering qualification would be advantageous.
