Fit Out UK is an industry-leading interior fit-out and logistics contractor specialising in high-quality retail, commercial, banking, hospitality, and residential projects. We deliver complete solutions from design and manufacture through to installation. Our state-of-the-art workshop in Park Royal produces bespoke joinery, furniture, and retail fixtures for blue-chip clients across the UK.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Joinery Workshop Supervisor to lead our skilled team in our busy Park Royal workshop. You will oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensure the highest standards of joinery production, and play a key role in delivering exceptional bespoke fit-out solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of the joinery workshop, including a team of joiners, machinists, and support staff.
- Plan and allocate work to meet project deadlines and production schedules.
- Maintain exceptional quality standards across all bespoke joinery, furniture, and fixture manufacturing.
- Ensure efficient use of materials, machinery, and labour to minimise waste and maximise productivity.
- Enforce strict health & safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Design teams, and Site teams to ensure accurate interpretation of drawings and specifications.
- Monitor and report on workshop performance, including output, quality, and attendance.
- Support staff development through training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Oversee machine maintenance and workshop organisation (5S/lean principles desirable).
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Joinery Workshop Supervisor, Foreman, or similar leadership role in a joinery/fit-out manufacturing environment.
- Strong hands-on joinery skills with excellent knowledge of woodworking machinery, CNC processes, and modern joinery techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Solid understanding of health & safety regulations and best practices in a workshop setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Experience working on high-end retail and commercial fit-out projects is highly desirable.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry/Joinery) preferred.
