Barnet, London | £90–£100 per day | Full-Time | Temporary | Start ASAP (June 2026)


Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training. Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barnet.

This full-time role is available immediately and will run until July, with the possibility of continuing into September for the right candidate. The school is a well-regarded two-form entry primary setting with a strong community feel, supportive leadership team and a consistently Good Ofsted rating.

About the Role

Working within a current Year 4 class, you will provide whole-class support alongside the class teacher while also delivering targeted interventions to small groups of pupils who require additional academic support.

You will lead intervention sessions with groups of 2–6 pupils twice daily, helping children who have fallen behind in their learning to build confidence and make progress. Intervention subjects will vary and will be fully planned by the class teacher.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting pupils academically and making a measurable impact on their progress.

Key Responsibilities
• Supporting teaching and learning within a Year 4 classroom
• Delivering small-group interventions across a range of subjects
• Helping pupils who require additional support to close learning gaps
• Working closely with the class teacher to implement planned interventions
• Supporting pupils with a range of learning needs
• Encouraging confidence, engagement and positive learning behaviours

The Ideal Candidate
• Previous experience working in a primary school setting
• Experience supporting Key Stage 2 pupils
• Confident delivering small-group interventions
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills
• Patient, positive and adaptable approach
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
• Passion for helping children achieve their full potential
