A successful and well-regarded secondary school in Kent is seeking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic Lead Teacher of Psychology to join their school on a part-time basis from September 2026 on a maternity cover contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Psychology Teacher to lead a popular and thriving A Level subject within a supportive and ambitious school environment.

The role

In this role you will lead Psychology at A Level, teaching the AQA specification, and will also contribute to the wider Science curriculum, teaching Science to at least Key Stage 3.

Psychology is a highly popular subject within the Sixth Form and the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the strong outcomes and high standards already established within the department.

This role sits within the school’s Science Faculty which boasts an established and highly supportive team. Staff benefit from excellent departmental support, including an experienced team of technicians and faculty leadership committed to professional development and curriculum innovation.

This is a part-time (at least 3 days) position and carries a TLR2A allowance in recognition of the leadership responsibility for Psychology. This is a maternity cover post which will cease when the member of staff returns from maternity leave.
