Learning Support Assistant - Chichester
Prospero Teaching is recruiting a supportive and reliable Learning Support Assistant to work in schools in the Chichester area for an immediate start. This role involves providing additional classroom support to pupils who may need help with learning, confidence, behaviour, or engagement.
You will work closely with teachers and support staff to assist pupils throughout the school day. Support may involve working 1:1 with individual students or supporting small groups within the classroom, helping pupils stay focused and engaged in their learning.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to gain valuable experience in education.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 support and small‑group assistance where required
- Support pupils during lessons, activities, and transitions
- Help students stay focused, confident, and engaged in learning
- Support behaviour and encourage positive routines
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and resources
- Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Maintain a calm, supportive classroom environment
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children or young people
- Patient, positive, and confident in a classroom environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptable and able to respond to varying needs
- Reliable and able to work as part of a team
- Backgrounds in childcare, youth work, support work, or education welcomed
- Graduates seeking school experience encouraged to apply
Contract Details:
- Position: Learning Support Assistant
- Location: Chichester
- Start Date: ASAP
- Working Pattern: Full‑time, term‑time
- Pay Rate: £14.66 - £15.66 per hour
- Key Stages: Primary or Secondary
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
- Experience working with children desirable
- SEN experience beneficial but not essential
- Safeguarding training can be provided
