About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lift Engineer to join our growing team. This role involves the inspection, surveying, auditing, servicing and repair of a wide range of lifting equipment across customer sites.

This is an autonomous, customer-facing role suited to a professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality, compliant and safe engineering services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend customer sites to carry out insurance inspections of lifting equipment and issue detailed reports.
  • Conduct condition surveys of existing installations, assessing:
  • Service delivery standards
  • Compliance with current UK health and safety legislation
  • Accessibility compliance in accordance with the Equality Act 2010
  • Short, medium and long-term lifecycle analysis of equipment
  • Provide overview reports outlining refurbishment or full replacement options, including modular design solutions where appropriate.
  • Carry out equipment audits to benchmark installations against internal quality standards.
  • Conduct maintenance audits and provide professional reports on service performance.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs and servicing as required.
  • Complete test certification and associated documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Travel independently to customer premises as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lift products, standards and accessories.
  • Deliver excellent customer service in a professional, considerate and respectful manner.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties consistent with the level and responsibilities of the role.

Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER)

Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER)

Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999

All work must be carried out safely, methodically and in accordance with company procedures.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering (or equivalent qualification/experience).
  • Demonstrable experience carrying out lift inspections, servicing and maintenance.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing a range of lift systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a customer-facing environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English for the purpose of completing safety documentation and liaising with clients.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable UK health and safety legislation.
  • Full UK driving licence (subject to checks against points and endorsements)

Desirable:

  • Experience conducting technical audits or condition surveys.
  • Experience preparing technical compliance reports.
