The Company
Our client is a well-established business within the aggregates and plant machinery sector, supplying services across the region. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an organised and proactive Operations & Logistics Coordinator to support both the Aggregates Manager and Plant Manager with the day-to-day coordination of vehicles, maintenance administration, and operational scheduling.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience within aggregates, construction, plant hire, transport, quarrying, or a similar heavy industry environment who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational role.
The Role
Working closely with the Aggregates Manager and Plant Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of daily operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating vehicle schedules, maintaining operational records, supporting maintenance administration, and ensuring effective communication between drivers, suppliers, customers, and the operational teams.
This role is not managerial level but requires someone highly organised, hands-on, and capable of supporting senior operational staff effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Scheduling and coordinating vehicle movements and daily transport activities
- Supporting the Aggregates Manager and Plant Manager with operational duties
- Managing maintenance schedules and ensuring servicing records are up to date
- Coordinating plant and vehicle inspections, MOTs, servicing, and compliance paperwork
- Liaising with drivers, suppliers, site teams, and customers regarding schedules and operational updates
- Monitoring and updating operational spreadsheets and records
- Assisting with stock, delivery, and transport
- Supporting day-to-day operational planning and logistics coordination
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience within aggregates, plant hire would be highly advantageous
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Experience coordinating vehicles, transport, or operational scheduling
- Good understanding of maintenance administration and compliance documentation
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise across multiple departments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workloads
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft Excel and general office systems
- Proactive and able to work effectively within a busy operational environment
