Corby | 11:30am - 1:30pm | Term Time Only | Via Tradewind Recruitment

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for caring, patient and enthusiastic Lunchtime Support Assistants to join one of our valued SEND school partners in Corby.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people across an all-through specialist school, working primarily with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), alongside pupils with a range of additional needs, including physical disabilities.

As a Lunchtime Support Assistant, you will be assigned to a specific class and will support pupils throughout the entire lunchtime period. This will include accompanying students from the classroom to the dining hall, supporting them during mealtimes, encouraging positive social interactions, and supervising activities during playground and outdoor time before safely returning them to class.

The role requires individuals who are proactive, nurturing and confident in supporting students with varying levels of need. On occasion, personal care may be required, and full support and guidance will be provided where necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils throughout the lunchtime routine.
  • Assisting students in the dining hall during meals.
  • Encouraging social interaction, communication and independence.
  • Supervising pupils during outdoor play and recreational activities.
  • Supporting pupils with additional physical and communication needs.
  • Following safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Providing personal care support when required.

What We're Looking For:

  • A compassionate and patient approach.
  • Experience working with children, young people or adults with SEND is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliability, professionalism and a willingness to learn.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.

Progression Opportunities

This role offers an excellent route into education and SEND support. Candidates who perform well are often given opportunities to:

  • Stay beyond the lunchtime period to provide classroom support.
  • Gain additional experience as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Progress into longer-term or full-time TA positions within the school.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday
11:30am - 1:30pm
Term Time Only

If you are passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people with additional needs and are looking for a flexible role with genuine progression opportunities, we would love to hear from you.
