M&E Contracts Manager – Data Centres

Location: Essex (Office Based / Site Travel as Required)
Salary: £90,000 – £95,000 + Bonus + Benefits + Commission Structure
Contract: Permanent

The Opportunity

A well-established and growing MEP contractor is seeking an experienced M&E Contracts Manager with a strong background in the data centre sector.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a developing data centre division, reporting directly into the Director, with a clear and structured pathway towards Directorship.

The business is offering the chance to play a key strategic role in shaping and scaling a high-growth division, backed by a strong pipeline of secured work.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery and commercial performance of multiple data centre projects, ensuring successful execution from pre-construction through to completion.

This role combines operational leadership, commercial oversight, and client management, with a strong emphasis on driving growth within the data centre sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage M&E delivery across data centre projects

  • Oversee project teams, site managers, and subcontractors

  • Take responsibility for commercial performance and contract management

  • Report directly into the Director and support divisional growth strategy

  • Manage client relationships and stakeholder engagement

  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget

  • Drive procurement, variations, and cost control

  • Support development and expansion of the data centre division

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager / M&E Contracts Manager

  • Strong background delivering data centre projects (essential)

  • Excellent commercial awareness and contract management capability

  • Experience managing multiple projects and senior site teams

  • Strong leadership and client-facing skills

  • Ambition to progress into senior leadership / directorship
