Maintenance Technician Location: Middlewich
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, Days Only
The Opportunity An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join a highly automated distribution and logistics operation in Middlewich. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of automated equipment and systems critical to site operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across automated equipment and systems.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain operational performance.
  • Ensure all installations and equipment are maintained to the highest standard.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver maintenance and improvement activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and quality procedures.
Candidate Requirements
  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role.
  • Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience working with maintenance planning and preventative maintenance programmes.
  • Proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience working within FMCG, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, or highly automated environments.
  • Exposure to automated material handling systems, conveyors, or logistics automation.
  • Previous experience coaching, mentoring, or training colleagues.
