A well-established and growing manufacturing company in Birmingham is looking for an experienced Manual Miller to join their skilled engineering team. This role will be approximately 70% manual milling, with the remaining work on CNC machines. Training on CNC can be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone with strong manual machining experience who wants to further develop their CNC skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual milling machines to produce precision components.
- Operate and program CNC machines where required.
- Work from engineering drawings to manufacture parts to tight tolerances.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and ensure machines are running efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Work collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Extensive experience operating manual milling machines.
- Experience with machines such as Colchester lathes, XYZ Pro Turn, or OKUMA (or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- CNC operating/programming experience is advantageous but training can be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
