Maths Teacher

Prospero Teaching is working with secondary schools in the Portsmouth area to recruit qualified and enthusiastic Maths Teachers (QTS) for a September start. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join supportive departments and deliver engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering Maths lessons, assessing student progress, and supporting pupils of mixed abilities. This role is suitable for both experienced teachers and confident ECTs looking to build their career in a supportive school environment.

• Teach Maths across KS3 and KS4
• Plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons
• Mark work, assess progress, and provide feedback
• Support pupils of varying abilities to achieve strong outcomes
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour and engagement
• Contribute to planning within the Maths department
• Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
• Confident classroom practitioner
• Effective behaviour management skills
• Organised and committed to high standards
• Suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs

• Working Pattern: Full‑time
• Pay Rate: £32,916 - £51,047 per annum (M1-U3)
• Key Stages: KS3-KS4

• QTS required
• Secondary Maths teaching experience preferred
• Safeguarding training can be provided
