Maths Teacher - Alternative Provision

Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent

We are seeking a passionate and resilient Maths Teacher to join a specialist Alternative Provision in Stoke-on-Trent, supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who believes that relationships, consistency, and creativity are just as important as curriculum delivery. You will play a vital role in helping students re-engage with education, build confidence in maths, and achieve meaningful progress both academically and personally.

You will:

• Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to small class groups
• Support students with a range of additional needs including Autism and SEMH
• Create a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment
• Use adaptive teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles
• Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, support staff, and families
• Promote positive behaviour through relationship-based approaches
• Encourage students to develop resilience, independence, and self-belief

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds QTS/QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
• Has experience teaching Maths at secondary level
• Understands the needs of students with Autism and SEMH challenges
• Is patient, empathetic, and adaptable
• Can build strong, positive relationships with vulnerable learners
• Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
• Is committed to inclusive education and improving outcomes for every child
