Duties of a Mobile Breakdown Van Technician:
  • Conduct roadside breakdown repairs and diagnostics efficiently to ensure minimal vehicle downtime
  • Complete detailed digital job cards and work reports accurately for each intervention
  • Deliver exceptional customer service during roadside repairs, maintaining a professional and courteous attitude
  • Work collaboratively within the team to uphold safety, quality standards, and technical compliance
  • Stay current with manufacturer updates and technical training to ensure high standards of repair and diagnostics
  • Cover shifts on a rota basis, including evenings, nights, and weekends as required
Requirements of a Mobile Breakdown Van Technician:
  • Recognised Level 3 qualification (IMI, City & Guilds or equivalent) in Vehicle Mechanics or Automotive Technology
  • Proven experience as a breakdown technician, roadside repair specialist, or mobile vehicle technician
  • Familiarity with commercial vehicles is desirable but not essential
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Responsible, self-motivated, and eager to develop further technical skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in dynamic roadside environments
