NPD Technologist

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an ambitious and passionate NPD Technologist to join a fast-paced and innovative food manufacturing business. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in developing new products from concept through to launch, working with major customers in a highly dynamic environment.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with Technical, Production, Procurement, and Sales teams to deliver high-quality, commercially viable products aligned with market trends and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver NPD projects from concept through to launch
• Develop and refine recipes, flavour profiles, and product concepts
• Research food trends, ingredients, and packaging innovations
• Prepare and present products for internal and customer approval
• Source and approve raw materials in collaboration with suppliers
• Coordinate factory trials and support product launches
• Ensure compliance with labelling, nutritional, and customer specifications
• Conduct benchmarking, sensory evaluation, and product optimisation
• Maintain accurate documentation throughout the NPD process

About You

• 2–3 years’ experience in food product development (ideally chilled)
• Strong passion for food, innovation, and consumer trends
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Confident communicator across teams, suppliers, and customers
• Able to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment

Desirable:

• Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or related discipline
• Culinary background or hands-on food experience
