Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery teacher with a passion for leading a team?

Unity Education is seeking a Nursery teacher to join a supportive and friendly Nursery based in Redbridge, on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join as the nursery is expanding and opportunities for progression will be available.

Key Responsibilities – Nursery teacher

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons and play-based activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum in line with Teachers’ Standards and QTS expectations
  • Demonstrating strong understanding of pedagogy, assessment and classroom practice expected of a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) teacher
  • Creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes effective learning
  • Supporting pupils in developing strong foundations in phonics, reading, writing and numeracy
  • Delivering high-quality phonics sessions to improve early reading and literacy outcomes
  • Using formative and summative assessment to monitor progress and inform planning
  • Differentiating lessons to support pupils of all abilities, including SEND and EAL learners
  • Implementing effective behaviour management strategies in line with whole-school policy
  • Planning targeted interventions to accelerate progress and close attainment gaps
  • Preparing pupils for Key Stage 1 SATs through focused teaching and assessment preparation
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff to maximise pupil progress
  • Building positive relationships with parents, carers and external professionals to support pupil development

Key Requirements – Nursery teacher

  • The successful Nursery teacher will hold a Level 3 in Early Years (CACHE or Equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years working in an Early Years setting
  • A genuine passion for early years education and child development
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
    Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children
  • Using your own initiative and being proactive
  • Ability to lead a team effectively
