Job Title: Physical Education (P.E.) Teacher
Location: Secondary School in the Haringey Borough
Contract Type: Full-Time Paid to scale inner london QTS DBS required
Reports To: Head of Physical Education Department
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality P.E. lessons in accordance with the national curriculum and departmental guidelines.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs and ensure an inclusive learning environment.
- Student Assessment:
- Conduct regular assessments to evaluate students' physical abilities and progress.
- Provide constructive feedback to students, and communicate assessment outcomes to parents during parent-teacher meetings.
- Extracurricular Activities:
- Organize and lead extracurricular sports activities, clubs, and teams, fostering student participation and promoting a culture of physical fitness.
- Sports Events and Competitions:
- Coordinate and participate in school sports events, competitions, and inter-school tournaments.
- Encourage students to showcase their skills and sportsmanship during events.
- Equipment and Facility Management:
- Ensure the proper use and maintenance of sports equipment and facilities.
- Collaborate with the school administration to identify and address any maintenance or safety concerns related to P.E. facilities.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines during physical education classes and activities.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to minimize potential hazards.
- Student Discipline:
- Implement and uphold school policies on behavior and discipline during P.E. classes and related activities.
- Foster a positive and respectful environment for students to engage in physical activities.
- Professional Development:
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of new developments in physical education.
- Attend relevant workshops, training, and conferences to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
