Role Overview

As a Painter and Decorator, you will support multiple fire door compliance contracts across Yorkshire. This is a permanent, site-based role focused on delivering remedial making-good works and high-quality painting to fire doors, frames and surrounding areas following installation or repair works. You will work across live operational environments, ensuring all finishes are completed professionally while maintaining fire door compliance standards. Company van and fuel card provided.

What You’ll Deliver

  • Prepare, prime and paint fire doors and frames to a high standard following remedial and repair works

  • Carry out making-good works including minor plaster repairs, filling and localised wall repairs around completed fire door works

  • Complete sanding, filling, caulking and surface preparation to ensure a smooth and durable finish

  • Deliver decorative works without compromising fire door integrity, certification or compliance requirements

  • Work closely with fire door installers, surveyors and wider site teams to complete projects efficiently

  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, cleanliness and professionalism across all project sites

  • Coordinate daily activities effectively across multiple live operational environments

  • Ensure works are completed with minimal disruption to building users and ongoing operations

  • Travel across multiple Yorkshire project locations as part of planned programmes of work

  • Maintain company vehicle, tools and equipment safely and professionally

About You

You will be an experienced Painter and Decorator with strong attention to detail and proven experience delivering high-quality finishes within live operational environments. You will be confident carrying out remedial making-good works, managing workloads across multiple sites and working professionally alongside wider project teams.

  • Proven experience in painting and decorating works within commercial or maintenance environments

  • Strong experience carrying out remedial making-good and surface preparation works

  • Understanding of fire door compliance requirements and how decorative works interact with certification standards

  • Experience working within healthcare, education, commercial or other live operational environments preferred

  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads across multiple sites

  • Experience working on fire door or compliance-related projects (desirable)

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Full UK driving licence essential

  • Professional, reliable and committed to delivering high-quality finishes

Physical Requirements

This role involves practical, hands-on work and requires a good level of mobility and manual dexterity. You may at times be required to work at height, in confined spaces or on uneven ground, and to use a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
