Part‑Time Credit Controller

Location: Leighton Buzzard
Contract: Permanent - Part‑time (hours to be agreed)

Our client, Initivo, a specialist consultancy delivering infrastructure and highways solutions across the UK, is seeking an experienced and organised Credit Controller to join Initivo on a part‑time basis. This role plays a key part in managing customer credit risk, maintaining accurate accounts receivable, and supporting cash flow across the business.

You’ll work closely with internal teams and external customers to ensure timely payments, resolve invoice queries, and help reduce outstanding debt — all while maintaining positive, professional relationships.

Key responsibilities

  • Proactively manage accounts receivable and chase outstanding invoices
  • Monitor credit limits, payment terms, and aged debt, escalating risks where required
  • Produce aged debt reports, cash allocation updates, and collection forecasts
  • Resolve invoice queries and payment disputes efficiently
  • Support month‑end processes, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of customer communications and actions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of credit control processes

About you

  • Previous experience in credit control or accounts receivable
  • Strong understanding of invoicing, payment terms, and credit risk
  • Confident communicator, comfortable handling sensitive financial discussions
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
  • Experience within construction, engineering, or professional services is desirable but not essential
