💰 £110-£120 per day (depending on experience)

We are seeking a caring, resilient, and proactive Pastoral Assistant to join a supportive school setting in M30, Salford, providing dedicated pastoral and SEND support to students.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with young people who may require additional support with their social, emotional, behavioural, or educational needs. The successful candidate will help remove barriers to learning, improve student wellbeing, and support positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.



The Role

  • Providing pastoral and emotional support to students across the school
  • Supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with students
  • Supporting attendance, engagement, behaviour, and wellbeing
  • Working on a 1:1 basis and with small groups
  • Assisting students in managing emotions and developing positive coping strategies
  • Liaising with teaching staff, pastoral teams, SENDCOs, and parents where required
  • Promoting a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment


We Are Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • Knowledge or understanding of SEND and additional learning needs
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Ability to support students through challenging situations
  • Passion for helping young people succeed academically and personally

Essential Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS certificate covering Child and Adult Workforce, registered on the DBS Update Service, or willingness to apply and pay for a new DBS check.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
