At The Ashley School, we are proud to be a forward-thinking, all-through special school supporting pupils with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and complex needs from year 3 to year 11.

The Opportunity

This is a pivotal leadership position designed for a teacher who wants to make a significant impact beyond their own classroom. You will be the strategic lead for inclusion within Key Stage 3, ensuring that our curriculum and provision allow every learner to achieve the highest standards possible.

You will:

  • lead the KS3 Inclusion Team: manage a dedicated inclusion assistant to focus on learner provision and outcomes
  • champion EHCPs: lead the annual review process for all pupils within your Key Stage and monitor progress toward individual interim targets
  • collaborate and mentor: act as a role model for outstanding practice, helping other teachers and staff adapt their delivery to meet diverse needs
  • identify and solve: work with internal and external professionals to identify unmet needs and implement strategies for improvement
  • support school-wide practice: liaise with curriculum leads, DSLs, and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure inclusive approaches are embedded throughout the entire school.

Who are we looking for?

Whether you are a primary or secondary trained teacher, we want to hear from you. We value the diverse expertise that both phases bring to a special school setting.

You will be:

  • a professional with a strong understanding of SEN and inclusive practices
  • an expert communicator who can partner with parents, carers, and external agencies
  • a data-informed leader who can monitor achievement targets and evaluate the impact of teaching on student progress
  • a proactive team player dedicated to maintaining the school’s nurturing ethos and identity.

Why join The Ashley School?

You will have the chance to help shape a new role within a stable and evolving pastoral structure. We offer a competitive package including an SEN point and TLR 2a(ii), alongside a commitment to your own professional development and performance management.
