Payroll Officer

We are currently searching for a Payroll Officer to join a busy and supportive team. This role will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring employees are paid accurately while maintaining compliance and supporting benefits administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Run the monthly payroll cycle, ensuring all employees are paid correctly and within deadlines
- Update and maintain payroll information, including new starters, leavers, salary changes, and amendments
- Ensure payroll processes follow current legislation, HMRC requirements, and company procedures
- Support the administration of employee benefits such as pensions, healthcare schemes, and bonus payments
- Work closely with external payroll and benefits providers where applicable
- Handle employee queries relating to pay, deductions, and benefits in a timely manner
- Produce payroll-related reports and assist with internal or external audits when required
- Partner with Finance and HR to ensure payroll data is accurate and up to date
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience processing payroll using Sage
- Experience administering employee benefits schemes
- Knowledge of pensions and auto-enrolment requirements
- Good understanding of payroll legislation and compliance
- Confident Excel skills
