On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs we are looking for a Planning and Delivery Lead for a 12 Month contract based in Solihull (hybrid)

Job description - the role

Purpose of the role:

Working within the Procurement team, responsible for ensuring the planning and on time delivery of a defined portfolio of parts across the full product lifecycle - including but not limited to NPI, production, transfers, reactivations and supply chain design. Be the first point of contact with regards to delivery for the external supply chain and internal stakeholders, ensuring strong relationship management.

What you'll do:

  • Manage and maintain the Executive System schedule to ensure accurate demand flowdown to suppliers and alignment with delivery commitments and forecasts.
  • Monitor and action system exception messages, ensuring timely resolution and incorporating supplier feedback on production status.
  • Lead regular Order Book Reviews, confirming suppliers have sufficient capacity, materials, and production schedules in place to support forward-looking customer demand.
  • Own and maintain supplier capacity statements, updating them to reflect short-term tactical actions and longer-term strategic plans.
  • Assess supplier planning capabilities to ensure they can meet current and future customer requirements.
  • Use planning and control tools, along with internal stakeholder feedback, to proactively identify potential delivery gaps and risks.
  • Communicate and manage issues impacting delivery, ensuring stakeholders are informed and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Conduct regular supplier site visits to evaluate working practices, production capabilities, and alignment to agreed plans, identifying potential risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues that may impact supplier performance, including invoice clearance, commercial disputes, technical or quality concerns, and purchase order coverage gaps.

The skills you'll need:

  • Support supplier business reviews and scorecards.
  • Conduct delivery improvement reviews, ensuring actions are in place to address performance gaps using key KPIs (e.g. OTIF, arrears, WIP, lead time).
  • Assess and improve supplier planning and control capability using SPA.
  • Identify and address long-term risks to delivery performance.
  • Develop and implement solutions to mitigate ongoing or systemic performance issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supplier-related risks and challenges.
