We are recruiting for an experienced Preconstruction Director to join a growing business based in Castleford.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in groundworks and civil engineering, with proven experience leading and managing the preconstruction function from tender stage through to project handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the preconstruction process across multiple civils and groundwork projects
• Managing tender strategy, planning, and bid coordination
• Overseeing programme development and project feasibility
• Working closely with estimating, commercial, and operational teams
• Identifying project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions
• Supporting successful project delivery through effective preconstruction planning
• Managing client relationships during bid and negotiation stages

Requirements

• Strong background within groundworks and civils
• Proven leadership experience within preconstruction
• Excellent commercial and operational awareness
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience producing and reviewing construction programmes
• Knowledge of planning software such as Oracle Primavera P6 is advantageous

Package

• Salary up to £90,000 depending on experience
