Primary Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis within a Primary setting in Harrogate. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young learners and making a real difference in the classroom.

The role is to start as soon as possible and has long term potential for the right candidate. You will be joining a supportive and dynamic environment where your contribution will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons, including preparing resources and setting up activities
• Work closely with pupils to support their learning and help them reach their full potential
• Deliver small group work and targeted interventions as directed by the teacher
• Provide additional support for pupils with varying needs, ensuring an inclusive learning environment
• Assist with classroom management, promoting positive behaviour and a productive atmosphere
• Build professional relationships with staff, pupils, and parents through effective communication

What We’re Looking For

• Experience supporting children within a primary school setting
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
