Teaching Assistant – SEN School

Now Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive Primary SEN School in Liverpool (L27) who are looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist educational setting where you can make a genuine difference to the lives of children with additional needs, supporting them to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
The school caters for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Disorder, speech and language difficulties, complex learning needs, and social, emotional, and communication challenges.
The Role:
- Providing classroom support across a primary SEN setting
- Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions tailored to individual pupil needs
- Supporting pupils with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
- Assisting with literacy, numeracy, communication, and life skills activities
- Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and other support staff to implement personalised learning plans
- Encouraging pupil engagement, independence, and confidence
- Helping to maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is essential
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND is highly desirable
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to adapt to the individual needs of pupils
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to succeed
