Our client is seeking an exceptional Principal / Senior Building Control Surveyor to join a high‑performing, forward‑thinking team delivering some of the most interesting and technically challenging projects in the sector. This is a permanent role with a hybrid working model, offering a balanced mix of office, site, and home‑based work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan assessment - Undertake detailed technical checks of plans submitted for Building Regulations approval, ensuring full compliance and providing clear, authoritative feedback.

  • Site inspections - Carry out site visits, prepare high‑quality inspection reports, and witness tests to verify compliance throughout the construction process.

  • Client & design team engagement - Attend meetings to offer expert guidance, influence design decisions, and support clients in navigating regulatory requirements.

  • Quality & compliance - Work within established management systems, including the Quality Management System, ensuring consistent, auditable professional standards.

  • Commercial awareness - Operate with a clear understanding of project budgets, timelines, and commercial drivers, contributing to efficient and profitable project delivery.



Candidate Requirements

  • Professional building control experience with a strong track record of delivering high‑quality work.

  • A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset, able to interpret complex technical challenges and provide practical, compliant outcomes.

  • Strong technical competence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build trusted client relationships.

  • Professional accreditation with RICS, CABE, CIOB, or an equivalent body (or working toward it).

  • A full, valid driving licence.
