Product Development Assistant

Location:                          Poole, Dorset

Hours:                                8am – 5pm Monday - Thursday & Friday 8am – 4pm

Salary:                               £35,000 per annum (circa)

We are currently partnering with a market-leading decorative brand based in Poole to find a proactive and detail-oriented Product Development Assistant to join their growing team.

This isn’t just a support role; it’s a chance to become a key player in a small, high-energy department where your input directly impacts the success of new product ranges. As the Product Development Assistant, you will work hand-in-hand with the Product Manager, acting as the vital link between creative ideas and technical execution.

What will your day look like?

No two days are the same in this fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities will span the entire product lifecycle, including:

• Sample & Prototype Management: Taking ownership of ordering samples, tracking international deliveries, and providing hands-on feedback to ensure top-tier quality.
• Data & Systems: Maintaining meticulous product data across internal databases and managing complex spreadsheets to ensure smooth product launches.
• Global Liaison: Communicating daily with Far East factories and suppliers to keep projects moving in line with the critical path.
• Sales Analysis: Assisting the Brand and Sales teams by analysing sales data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.

Who are we looking for?

The ideal Product Development Assistant will be someone who thrives on variety and possesses a "can-do" attitude. To be successful, you should have:

• Exceptional Excel Skills: You are comfortable producing clear, accurate spreadsheets and managing large volumes of data.
• Analytical Insight: You have a solid understanding of, or direct experience in, supporting product development teams. You are comfortable analysing key metrics to drive continuous improvement and enhance product performance.
• Brilliant Communication: You can liaise professionally with stakeholders at all levels, both locally and internationally.
• A Meticulous Eye: You notice the small things that others might miss, ensuring consistently high standards of accuracy.
• Project Mindset: You enjoy the challenge of managing multiple deadlines and keeping various projects on track.
• Driving Licence: A full driving licence is required for this position.
