On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs we are looking for a Project Lead for a 12 month contract based in Derby.

Please note this role is hybrid position in which you would be required to work onsite 3 days per week and work from home 2 days per week.

Project Lead Job Description

Purpose of the role:

  • Lead the successful delivery of complex, cross-functional projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Act as the central coordination point between internal teams, global stakeholders, and external partners to drive alignment and execution.
  • Manage cost, risk, and resource planning across the project lifecycle to deliver expected commercial and operational benefits.

What you'll do as a Project Lead:

  • Be accountable for end-to-end delivery of defined projects/workstreams to cost, specification, and schedule.
  • Lead day-to-day project execution, including facilitating IPT meetings with international and internal teams.
  • Develop and maintain key project management deliverables such as schedules, WBS, budgets, resource plans, risk registers, and performance reports.
  • Ensure project costs are tracked and managed throughout the lifecycle, delivering expected cost benefits and contractual commitments.
  • Monitor and ensure accurate resource utilisation, including aligning booked hours with statements of work.
  • Work across core commodities such as turbine blades and shafts, supporting new product introduction, market share initiatives, and contract execution.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, engineering, and operational teams to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Provide clear reporting and insights to senior management, supporting effective decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement and implementation of project management best practices.

The skills you'll need as a Project Lead:

  • Proven experience in project or programme management within aerospace, automotive, or a similar complex manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in delivering large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects across supply chain and operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning, cost management, and delivering commercial outcomes.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management, with the confidence to engage global partners and senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and structured project delivery methodologies (desirable).
  • Experience using project management and ERP tools such as Primavera P6 and SAP.
