The Role
The Project Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of overhead line infrastructure works, ensuring projects are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will lead mobilisation activity, manage site facilities, coordinate subcontractors and oversee project personnel throughout the delivery lifecycle. They will also manage project risks, forecasting, cost control, programmes, stakeholder relationships and contract administration. This role is well suited to an ambitious Project Manager looking to take on greater responsibility within a technically challenging National Grid environment.
Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, ideally within the energy, utilities, overhead lines or wider infrastructure sector.
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing internal teams, subcontractors, supply chain partners and external stakeholders.
- Comprehensive construction knowledge, with a track record of delivering complex, multi-disciplinary projects safely and effectively.
- Strong commercial awareness, including experience managing project budgets, forecasting, cost control, financial reporting and project risk registers.
- Working knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, including change control, early warnings and compensation events, alongside a sound understanding of UK health and safety requirements.
