The Opportunity

An established and well-regarded construction contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Project Manager to join its growing operational team.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the successful delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. Working across a varied portfolio of schemes, you will be responsible for managing programmes, budgets, quality, health & safety, and stakeholder relationships to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of construction projects from inception through to handover
  • Manage project programmes, ensuring key milestones and deadlines are achieved
  • Lead site teams and coordinate internal departments to drive project performance
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and commercial performance alongside the commercial team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and key stakeholders
  • Identify and manage project risks, implementing solutions to minimise delays and cost impacts
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements and company procedures
  • Drive quality standards throughout the project lifecycle and oversee successful project handover
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety legislation, company policies, and industry best practice
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to site-based teams where required

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager within a main contractor environment
  • Track record of successfully delivering construction projects from start to finish
  • Experience working across sectors such as commercial, healthcare, education, residential, industrial, or refurbishment
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build long-term professional relationships
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure

Qualifications

Essential:

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid at Work

Desirable

  • Professional membership (CIOB, RICS, or equivalent)
  • Degree or HNC/HND in a construction-related discipline Relevant construction-related qualification or equivalent experience
