Knowsley Council is seeking an experienced and committed Qualified Social Worker to join its Children’s Services team on a full-time locum basis. About the Role
You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The role involves managing a varied caseload, undertaking assessments, developing care plans, and working collaboratively with families and partner agencies to ensure positive, sustainable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake child and family assessments in line with statutory guidance

  • Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely and effective interventions

  • Develop and implement care and support plans

  • Attend and contribute to case conferences, reviews, and court proceedings where required

  • Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals to safeguard children

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records

Working Arrangement
This is a hybrid role, offering a healthy work-life balance with three days based in the office and two days working from home.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognised social work qualification

  • Registration with Social Work England

  • Previous experience within children’s social care

  • Strong assessment and analytical skills

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
