A leading Tier 1 construction contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team on a significant education development in the Inverness area.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established business with a strong presence across the Highlands and a healthy pipeline of public-sector and major construction projects.
Working as part of an experienced project and commercial team, you will take responsibility for the financial management of designated work packages, ensuring robust cost control and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Managing project costs, valuations, forecasts and financial reporting.
- Preparing and reviewing cost plans, estimates and reconciliations.
- Measuring works from drawings, specifications and project documentation.
- Assisting with procurement activities, including subcontract enquiries, tender assessments and package awards.
- Administering subcontract accounts and managing variations.
- Supporting commercial reporting and project governance requirements.
- Working closely with operational teams to maximise project value and commercial performance.
- Building positive relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
- Providing guidance and support to junior commercial staff where required.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying.
- CSCS card holder.
- Previous experience within a main contractor environment.
- Commercially aware with excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
- Capable of working independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative project team.
