Quantity Surveyor – The Company

A growing and well-established structured cabling and network infrastructure contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support continued expansion across London and the South West.

The business delivers structured cabling, fibre, and network infrastructure projects across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and large-scale development sectors. With a strong reputation for delivery and long-standing client relationships, the company continues to secure repeat business and is now looking to strengthen its commercial team with the addition of its first dedicated Quantity Surveyor.

Quantity Surveyor – The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day commercial management of multiple structured cabling and infrastructure projects across London and the South West.

Working closely with operational and delivery teams, you will oversee commercial reporting, subcontractor management, valuations, variations, and cost control across live projects.

The role offers a good level of autonomy and would suit someone comfortable working across both office and site environments within a growing business.

Typical duties & responsibilities:

  • Commercial management of multiple live projects
  • Managing subcontractor procurement and accounts
  • Preparation and submission of valuations and applications for payment
  • Variation identification, pricing, and agreement
  • Cost reporting and forecasting
  • Managing project cashflow and commercial risk
  • Supporting operational teams with commercial advice and project support
  • Negotiating subcontract and supplier accounts
  • Attending client and commercial meetings
  • Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and commercial targets

Quantity Surveyor – The Person

You will ideally have previous experience within structured cabling, telecoms infrastructure, electrical, or M&E sectors, although strong Quantity Surveyors from a main contracting background will also be considered.

The successful candidate will be commercially aware, organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects within a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience within structured cabling, telecoms, electrical, M&E or construction sectors
  • Good commercial and contractual understanding
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts and variations
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable travelling across London and the South West as required
  • Full UK driving licence
