Willow Tree Surgery is looking for a friendly, organised, and professional Receptionist to join our busy GP practice team on a full-time basis of 37.5 hours per week, working shifts covering between 08:00 and 18:30.

This is an important front-facing role where you will provide excellent customer service to patients and support the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

The successful candidate will act as a key point of contact for patients and will work closely with GPs, nursing staff, and the wider administrative team to ensure enquiries are handled efficiently, accurately, and courteously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients and visitors in a welcoming and professional manner
  • Responding to patient enquiries both in person and over the telephone
  • Booking appointments, recalls, and managing appointment systems
  • Handling urgent appointment requests appropriately
  • Processing repeat prescription requests in line with practice policies
  • Managing requests for prescription collection and medication queries
  • Recording and distributing documentation accurately and promptly
  • Accepting payments for private services and issuing receipts
  • Entering home visit requests and escalating where appropriate
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
  • Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff
  • Ensuring the reception area and surgery premises remain tidy and organised

  • Previous receptionist or customer service experience
  • Experience working within a GP practice or healthcare environment

  • Friendly, empathetic, and reassuring manner
