We are currently recruiting for a Safer Neighbourhoods Officer to join a busy and proactive housing team, helping to create safer communities and improve the quality of life for residents across local neighbourhoods.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional with a strong background in anti-social behaviour, tenancy enforcement, and neighbourhood management.
The Role
Working as part of the Neighbourhoods Team, you will take ownership of anti-social behaviour and community safety cases, using a range of enforcement tools and preventative measures to support residents and create safer neighbourhoods.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and progressing anti-social behaviour and nuisance cases from referral through to resolution
• Taking appropriate enforcement action, including legal remedies where necessary
• Liaising with solicitors to progress court applications and attend hearings when required
• Working closely with residents, partner agencies, support services and internal teams to resolve complex cases
• Supporting vulnerable residents through partnership working and tenancy sustainment initiatives
• Assisting with the deployment of CCTV, Lifeline alarms and other security measures
• Conducting interviews relating to tenancy breaches, neighbourhood disputes and ASB complaints
• Supporting neighbourhood inspections and local community safety initiatives
• Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Experience working within social housing, neighbourhood management or community safety
• Strong knowledge of anti-social behaviour case management and enforcement processes
• Experience working with residents, partner agencies and support services
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• The ability to manage sensitive and challenging situations professionally
• Experience preparing evidence and supporting legal action where required
• Strong organisational and case management skills
• Confidence working independently and managing a varied caseload
- CIH qualification or equivalent housing qualification
• Knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy enforcement processes
• Understanding of the legal framework relating to anti-social behaviour
• Experience of lone working and risk assessment processes
• Knowledge of property maintenance and repairs within a housing environment
