Location: Mansfield
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum + yearly bonus
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00

About the Role

A well-established engineering business based in Mansfield is seeking a driven and commercially minded Sales Engineer to join its growing team. With a strong existing order book and loyal customer base, this role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to manage incoming enquiries while proactively developing new business opportunities.

This is a key position within the business, combining technical expertise with sales acumen to deliver accurate quotations, build lasting customer relationships, and support continued company growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review customer enquiries, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate and competitive quotations
  • Interpret engineering drawings, particularly within steel and sheet metal fabrication
  • Liaise with internal production teams to ensure feasibility, lead times, and cost accuracy
  • Manage and nurture relationships with existing customers to maximise repeat business
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across relevant sectors
  • Conduct follow-ups on quotations and maintain a strong sales pipeline
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers throughout the sales process
  • Maintain CRM records and ensure all sales activity is documented effectively

About You

  • Proven experience in a Sales Engineer, Estimator, or similar technical sales role
  • Background in steel fabrication, sheet metal, or a related engineering environment
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Commercially aware with the ability to price work accurately and competitively
  • Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and target-driven
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
