Are you passionate about science and looking to play an integral role in supporting practical learning? We are currently working with a highly regarded secondary school seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to join their thriving Science Department on a long-term basis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for practical science lessons
- Supporting teachers during laboratory activities when required
- Safely handling, storing, and disposing of chemicals and scientific materials
- Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring resources are readily available
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies
- Upholding health and safety standards and ensuring compliance with relevant procedures
- Keeping laboratories and preparation areas clean, organised, and well-maintained
- Providing general administrative and technical support to the Science Department
- A degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific subject
- Previous experience working within a laboratory environment
- A sound understanding of chemical handling and laboratory safety practices
- Strong IT and administrative skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive and organised approach to their work
- A genuine interest in developing a long-term career as a Science Technician
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
