Section 12 Approved Doctor

3D Recruit are looking to expand our pool of Section 12 doctors to support Local Authorities with the assessment for Dols (Deprivation of liberty).

You will be paid per assessmentranging from £140 - £170 an assessment

The Section 12 doctors are responsible for completing Mental Health assessments and Eligibility assessments.

Assess whether the person has a mental disorder (e.g. dementia, learning disability, severe mental illness)Confirm that the disorder is of a nature or degree that justifies care or treatment arrangementsProvide medical input into whether the deprivation of liberty is necessary in the person’s best interestsWork alongside a Best Interests Assessor (BIA) who looks at care, alternatives, and proportionalityEnsure decisions comply with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 safeguards

Essential Requirements:

Degree/master’s in social work and SWE registration.

2+ years of post-qualification experience.

Strong knowledge of UK social care legislation and practice.
