About the Role A specialist SEN school in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated and resilient English Teacher to work with students across KS3 and KS4 with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, ASD, and associated behavioural challenges.
This is a highly rewarding role for a teacher who is passionate about making a real difference β supporting students who may be disengaged from education and helping them rebuild confidence, develop literacy skills, and achieve meaningful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons (KS3βKS4)
- Support students with SEMH, ASD, and behavioural needs
- Manage behaviour effectively using a calm, consistent approach
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual EHCP targets
- Work closely with TAs, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
- Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 level
- Strong understanding of SEN, particularly SEMH and ASD
- Confident in behaviour management and de-escalation
- Patient, resilient, and adaptable
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners
- Small class sizes and strong TA support
- Supportive leadership and collaborative staff team
