Academics is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive school in Eastbourne for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026.

This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve their individual learning goals. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and parents to ensure the pupil receives the highest level of support throughout their educational journey.



The Role

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN.
  • Support the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist with implementing individual learning plans and behaviour strategies.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to monitor progress.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.


Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is desirable.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
