Job Title: SEN LSA
Salary: £15.24 p/hour
Location: Emsworth/Portsmouth/Havant
The Role:
- One to One learning support - the role is primarily to support pupils with additional needs together with playground duties
- Working with individual or groups of pupils. This includes operating structured work schedules with pupils and carrying out group tasks with as directed by the teacher. Maintain records as required by the class teacher or therapist.
- Undertake personal/intimate medical work for children with special needs (training will be given)
- Prepare materials and equipment for named children under the supervision of the class teacher, differtiating where needed.
- To use ICT to make/develop resources and as an integral part of the teaching and learning process.
- Go off-site with groups of children and contribute to their supervision as required in the County regulations and procedures.
- Assist in the supervision of pupils at break time and lunchtime in the playground, supporting the teacher in ensuring the maintenance of high standards of behaviour.
- Escort children to and from school transport, playground, etc.
- Maintain communication with parents of pupils where required.
- Participate in team planning and preparation.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification in childcare education (ie. Level 2)
- Clean Driving Licence (Desirable, not essential)
- Minimum of 6 months experience within a childcare/SEN setting
- Enjoy working with children who have complex learning dificulties.
- Able to work flexibly across the full secondary age range.
