Are you a passionate Maths teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? The Education Specialists (TES) are recruiting for a dedicated SEN Maths Teacher to join a specialist provision in the Atherton area from September on a temp-to-perm basis.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a small, supportive school setting that caters for students with a range of special educational needs, including SEMH. The school prides itself on its nurturing approach, strong staff team, and commitment to helping every student achieve both academically and personally.
The Role:
You will be responsible for delivering engaging, differentiated Maths lessons to small classes of students who require additional support. A strong focus on behaviour management, relationship building, and tailored learning approaches is essential. You’ll be supported by experienced teaching assistants and a leadership team that values collaboration and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver Maths lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Support students with SEMH and additional needs to access the curriculum
- Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Work closely with support staff, SENCO, and leadership team
- Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP targets where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent)
- Experience working with SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision (preferred)
- Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
- Flexibility, resilience, and a team-focused mindset
